Saturday Village Vanguard – THE BRIGHT MAGUS

Five of the most talented musicians on the Italian scene come together under the sign of Miles Davis – that of the electric period, between the late 60s and mid 70s – and found an instrumental quintet: Bright Magus are Giovanni Calella, Leziero Rescigno, Alberto Turra, Mauro Tre and Gianni Sansone and are one of the finest things to have emerged from the musical underground in the last year with a debut album that ranges from jazz to funk, via rock, avant-garde and psychedelia, all blended into a fluid sound driven and propelled by their five exceptional personalities, between improvisation and original writing, inside and outside the aesthetics of their tutelary deity.
